Here is the link to the original build thread.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

And here are pics of the truck as it is now. It arrived with the tailgate/rear bumper off. Im guessing they fell off from the handling of the postal service. No matter..some CA glue and its back on. Same with the repair of the rack that i knew about. Took these pics before those repairs. But both have since been completed and the rack reinstalled.

It came with two sets of wheels and tires. Tamiya tires on both. One set mounted on hilux rims and the other set on HPI rims.

Now as for my plans for the truck changes wise. I have found some universal rubber fender flares that i will use to help cover the tires. They are molded to be longer then needed so they can be formed to fit what ever body you want to use them on.

Here is a pic of the Round style flares from that company...they also have ones formed for the Clod. I will more then likely order a set of each to see which one fits the blackfoot better.

A bit of an update finally. Bought the axles and shocks from the original build from RC so those should be here within the next few days. Got a few pics of the Chassis with its flipped transmission but prior to modifying the steering servo brace. Have installed an old Airtronics MG servo as well. The brace was flipped and moved back a bit so it covered the servo also giving me a mounting point for the interior when i start on that stage. It was also notched on the front side of it to allow clearance for a stick pack to be mounted up front above the axle. This allows me to mount my ESC and RX in the tool box. I will probably see what i can do about making it a water resistant enclosure as well. Theoretically i should be able seal the tool box with silicone at the joints and where it rests on the floor of the box to make it fairly water resistant. But i will worry about that when i get to that stage. As soon as the Axles and shocks arrive the truck will be a roller again. Anyways...on to the pics..

These are some older pics of inital assembly of the suspension on the truck.

On high lift tires.

i did a mock up using the wheels and tires from my Slash since the tires are the same dia as the XTs i was gonna run. I think it looks a lot better with the bigger tire.

I played around with the suspension a bit. Tried a few different things kept slamming into problems with binding...took a look at how the AX10 is set up and noticed the lower links are mounted on the same bolt as the shocks..tried this on the Blackfoot..and well..its a LOT lower now. Also followed Pantablos suggestion of angling the shocks which helped as well. Now about the only way i can get it any lower then this is to set it up as droop or run MLST shocks. But now it looks a lot better especially with 4.25 dia tires.

The plan for the electronics is this:

XL-5 ESC
27T motor
JR XS3 Remote with RS310 RX
Eventually plan on adding Ram Headlights, As well as some lights on the bumper of some sort. Also plan on running a 3 Racing winch mounted on a plate seperate from the bumper to keep the pulling load focused on the chassis and not on the styrene bumper to keep it in good shape. Found out recently that the XS3 has a switch that may be perfect for winch use. Will know if it works when i get the truck running.

I went with RC4wd steel wheels and Mud Slinger tires. I will get pics once the parts arrive.

Did some more work on the suspension. Installed the spare set of Losi XXX-S shocks i had kicking around which brought the truck down even lower. Also adjusted the links to get the wheels centered in the wheel wells.

Heres how it sat initally when i first assembled it a few months ago.

Project Blackfoot RCCars161

And this is how it sits now.

Project Blackfoot RCCars234

Installed a set of cut down Losi buggy springs that were the softest rate avalable to me at the time since this pic. I also moved the lower links to the outside of the center plate of the chassis and eliminated the large cross members that were in the way of the drive shafts. Going to keep an eye on this area to see if its strong enough to run with out them since most of the stress is on the main chassis not the lower plates.

Picked up some RC4wd OEM rims and Mudslinger tires. Had some problems with them initially then realized that the Mudslingers have too thick of bead to work with the bead lock rings. So i am running with no bead locks for the moment.

Finally an update on the Blackfoot project. Getting to be in the final stretch of things. Picked up a DH Fab bumper for the front. Probably gonna run a 3 Racing winch on the front.

Got an update to this project as well.. Installed a new set of Losi springs on all 4 corners, and installed the CC decals that arrived in the mail on tuesday. Also strapped the KTM dirt bike into the box with some scale bungie straps i bought from a member on crawl canada.
