| Well I got this chassis in trade and the plan from the beginning has been to build a Rubicon to replace the CC-01 Jeep 1.9 I recently sold. Heres the pics of the chassis from seller. It came with New TLT axles, new traxxas VXL steel geared tranny, and the Axial Lizards on Axial RockStar rims. Well it needed shafts, and everything electronic. So I got some pede shafts and made some up, and put Tamiya TEU-101 esc on it, and an Integy 35 turn motor and a servo I made from Traxxas high torque water proof servo, and a Futaba S3003 which has been a great servo for over 5 months now on Hillbilly. Then I got my hands on a set of G-Hawgs and white Axial RockStar rims lol There is a reason I wanted the white lol I always loved the look of these tires and was pleased to find out they were pretty soft, and after putting some memory foams in them they are a pretty good tire on the rocks, and they hardly clog with mud and dirt like a lot of the crawler tires I have been running. AND THEY LOOK SO MEAN. Well my body finally showed up today so I had to get it done up. Well scratched up some body mounts and had to see it running lol It did quite well on the banking across the road, its steep, loose, and greasy stuff over there and a tough climb to the top but the jeep didnt have much problem on it today. All the way to the top first try I was shocked, my compcrawler PIG has a hard time on that banking but the hammers on it clog with mud and dirt, but not the G-Hawgs lol Few after shots lol OK well this is where I'm at as of now, have been waiting for the body so I could get started in on other things. The body needs to be a little higher, I need to make longer body mounts for that, and am going to build an interior for it. The chassis needs a few more braces as its kind of a thinner aluminum and had a lit of flex. I'll update you all as I go from here. Thanks for looking, and helpful comments are welcome | |

| Well I put a few hours into it today. Started in on the interior. Did a bunch of eyeballing and guestimating and got the first side glued on. Then the other side. Fire wall glued in. Early test fit for more eyeballing. Well then the part I have been dreadding uhggg cutting up that nice new body lol Off with the roll bars lol Its at about the body hight I wanted and gives it plenty of room for articulation. So now it was time to start cutting out the bed to make it match up more. One of the neighbors stopped in to have a look at what all the noise wa all about lol Well that done I desided I want to do full cage and want it topless and trimmed it up lol LOL I'll try to get more done tomorrow if time allows. | |

| Well was able to put a few hours in on it yesterday. I got the gap along the side filled in and body glued on. The piece sticking up is a filler, always remember the old saying, measure twice cut once lol Testing the fit after trimming the sides to size. Trimmed the body to make it more neat, checking how it looks with the cage in place. Body glued to the tub. While I was waiting for the glue to dry I decided to put some weight in the front tires since it showed up yesterday. 8.75oz for each front Put a cross brace on the cage to protect the driver, and replaced the rear bar I had drilled wrong lol. Body was sitting to high for my liking so I had to cut the hole for the tranny a little bigger to lower it just the rite amount. Looks much better at this level I think. Without battery in it With battery in it. Battery will be chassis mounted under the body but this was just a test to see where it would all sit, and I like where its at now. And a few poser shots lol Well this is where I ended last night, hoping to get more done on it tonight | |
